Actor Rahim Banda receives awards for championing education in Ghana

The Free Senior High School  (SHS) Ambassador, Rahim Banda has received an award for his contribution in enhancing education in the country.

The award which he received from gizoshowbiz multimedia, organisers of face of high school on Saturday at the Oyo Omess SHS in the Eastern Region was meant to recognise his efforts in sending deprived children back to school.

Speaking with spotonnews.net yesterday in Accra, the actor thanked the organisers of  the awards and promised to work assiduously in ensuring every Ghanaian child gain access to quality education.

“I am motivated by the award and will work harder and harder to ensure the demands of kids are met,” he said.

Rahim Banda noted that the organisers did not only give him an award for impacting the lives of kids but also promoted his works through customised t-shirts.

That, he indicated showed how important education was, adding that issues pertaining to education was a collective responsibility therefore “everyone should involve in it to boost the development of the country.”

The ambassador observed that education was no longer a privilege but a right for every child to enjoy.

He also called on parents to play their role as pillars and send their wards to school for brighter future.

The most important legacy any one can leave behind, Rahim Banda said was the impact they would make in others life and expressed commitment in working to improve the living conditions of every Ghanaian child.

Touching on what motivate him, he stated that individuals and actors including Sunsum, Papa Kumasi among others inspired him to pull out his best and lauded them for their support.

Otumfuor Osei Tutu II receives books from the ambassador

Earlier, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II endorsed his back to school from the streets project to propel him drive forward the educational agenda in all regions across the country.

Through the project, he donated 500 branded exercise books to the Otumfuor education fund in the Ashanti Region.

Led by the Asantehene and Asenhene, Rahim Banda also visited Sepaase RC cluster of schools to donate 500 books to assist the pupils in enhancing teaching and learning.

In response for the kind gesture, the Asantehene lauded him for such an initiative and urged him to work extra harder in achieving the aim of the project.

Otumfuor Osei Tutu II promised his support to help make the project a success.

He advised every Ghanaian to join hands with the ambassador to champion the fight for education.
