Barima Sidney to be slapped with another lawsuit over the release of ‘Papa no’ video

The much anticipated video of the song dubbed: “Papa No” which will be launched today by Hip life artiste, Barima Sidney might suffer a law suit as businessman Abdul Ganui Issaka has secured an interlocutory injunction on the song.

According to him, the song was induced by malice and aims to destroy the political campaign of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

The Squad-Yie Entertainment boss, Barima Sidney will today release the visuals of the controversial track “Papa No” which earlier attracted a lawsuit.

The song was released to tout how some politicians waste state funds on things that would not help national development.

However,  a spokesperson for Mr Issaka , Kofi Adzivor in an interview with Spot On News warned the controversial musician not to add more salt to the injury of the said “Papa No” which many attributed the name to former president Mahama.

He claimed that the song was aimed to discredit former President Mahama and sell him as a bad Candidate to lure vote for his political opponents during the general polls.

Mr Adzivor observed that the structure of the video and the manner the musician and his team went around it was to attack the former President.

He therefore sent a notice to the musician and his team to halt the launch of the song.

According to Mr Adzivor, it was time the nation has to work hand in hand to help foster change and development not to always break the society apart.

He called on musicians to use their music to promote peace and stability, stressing that ” we don’t have to sing songs that will divide the society. This can breed war especially as we are getting closer to the General elections.”

Mr Adzivor indicated that if Sidney turn deaf ear to warning of his boss they would proceed with the court process for tampering with public peace and defaming a popular figure with no proof.

Meanwhile, Sidney in earlier interview on Okay FM explained that his song suffered a legal suit due to how people attached political images to it.

He stated that he did not mention anyone’s name in the song, thus should not attract any legal suit.
