Be selfless and support young artists—Jah Phinga to famous musicians

 

A fast rising Reggae/Dancehall sensation, Jah Phinga has called on young artists to work hard in order for their arts to be recognised in the industry.

According to him, the industry is a compelling one, thus needed hardworking and talented individuals to set it on the international front.

Speaking in a media interview, the “Wo Deka” hit maker stated that for the industry to excel musicians have to be selfless and support each other.

He noted that various music in the system were not captivating and expressed the need for Musicians to move a step further to compose songs that the people could relate to.

In this regards, Jah Phinga said he has released a song titled ‘push’ to encourage up and coming musicians not to relent on their efforts, adding that they should push hard to chalk their names on the good books of the industry.

Narrating his ordeal, he said no one supported him in the industry when he needed help the most but continued to struggle till his songs reached the mass and earned him an international record deal.

The 2020 Volta Award winning artiste, Jah Phinga posited that through hard work “Native World Entertainment” signed him and released a debut single Push, under the label which the visuals were shot in Dubai.

“My level has changed because the American based 360-Company, the label I am under which saw my hard work and dedication now got me an apartment and even bought a car for my personal use so push hard and your efforts will pay off,” he added.

The Afro Dancehall artiste said the song, Push was produced by Awaga with its video directed by Mobeatz BangR.

Jah Phinga further stated that hard work pays, stressing that people should strive for excellence in their career.

Known in real life as Jonathan Woelin Segbefia, he has recorded more than 50 singles and collaborated with industrial giants including Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Yaa Pono among others.

He blends ewe with English and Twi to sell the culture of his origin and was also nominated for the 2017 AFRIMA Awards, the artiste is poised to help make the industry attractive for foreign investors to invest in the sector.

Jah Phinga urged his fans and music lovers to keep supporting him and pledged to release an Extended Play (EP) album before the end of the year, saying this will get fans into the dancing floor to install the smiles that the deadly respiratory ailment, coronavirus took from their lips.
