BOST shuts down its office over mass coronavirus infection among staff

The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) has shut down its head office located at Dzorwulu after numerous staff tested positive for coronavirus.

The coronavirus cases were detected after the company embarked on a mass testing of staff.

A press statement issued in Accra by the Communication management copied to Spot On News  announced that the head office was closed for clients today, Monday July 6.

” BOST would like to announce for the information of the general public that it has closed down its head office at Dzorwulu in the Ayawaso West Municipality from Monday, July 6to Monday July 13, 2020.”

The move according management has become necessary due to a mass testing of staff carried out by the company at the head office in the wake of a staff of the Information Technology (IT) department testing positive for the virus.

“After the mass testing, a number of the staff tested positive and arrangements are being made for their treatment,” the statement added.

Some staff at the place revealed to media that about 36 staff have contracted the novel Coronavirus disease.

The oil company has therefore called on the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to get in touch with these affected persons for treatment.

Management of BOST has assured staff  and the public that  there would be mass fumigation at the office to secure the lives of the rest of the workers and clients when operation resumes on July 13.
