Dan Botwe is not dead—Daniel Kenneth denies COVID-19 death allegation

The Chief Executive of Okere District Assembly, Daniel Kenneth, has dismissed rumours that Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere Constituency Daniel Botwe has died.

According to him, Dan Botwe was kicking well to life, thus the rumours should be treated with all the contempt they deserve.

Dan Botwe, who is also Minister of Regional Reorganisation and Development, was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after testing positive for coronavirus.

Mr Kenneth said the Okere MP was discharged on Saturday after receiving treatment and attention at the health centre.

“I wish to implore all concerned persons not to be alarmed and that he’s home with his family,” he said.

Mr Kenneth appealed for prayers on Mr Note for him to be forestalled with good health and long life.

The deadly nature of the virus has laid it’s icy touch on  some key public officials including the Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Anthony KK Sam, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie.

The Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has recovered from the virus while the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Former President John Agyekum Kufuor and wife Ms Theresa Kufuor are in self-isolation.
