Chief Justice goes into self-isolation over fears of mass COVID-19 infection
The Chief Justice, Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah has gone into 14 day self-isolation in compliance with the Covid-19 safety protocols.
In a communique signed by the Judicial Secretary, Cynthia Pamela Addo in Accra yesterday, the Justice was following an advice from his doctor who counseled him to work from his residence.
“His Lordship will be working from the Chief Justice’s official residence at Cantonment,” she said.
This comes hours after the Supreme Court adjourned all cases scheduled for hearing this week over fears of mass coronavirus disease infection.
Sources told the media that some judges of the apex court have tested positive for Covid-19 and have subsequently gone into self-isolation.
According to the sources, hearing for all 16 cases which were expected to have started last week have all been postponed.
Reports indicated that all nine cases expected to be heard from Tuesday to Thursday have been suspended.
