Dominica foundation to kick-start a festive project: ‘Feed the Widow’ this Xmas

The Dominica Foundation, a non-profit organisation is set to embark on a Christmas charity project dubbed: “Feed the widow” on  December 28 2020.

The event which will be organised at Sapor D/A primary school park in Akosombo around 1pm was brought in partnership with Spot On News, SVTV Africa among other media outlets.

It aims at providing a hope for widows in the country to enable them enjoy the Christmas even without their husbands and families.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Spot On News in Accra yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation, Ms Dominica Ewura Esi Amankonah explained that the charity event was initiated in order to give hope to widows who are sidelined in the country.

She said Christmas is a festive season of love and wanted to involve the abandoned widow in the society for them to enjoy the festive season through the constant love the foundation show to the needy and society.

Ms Amankonah noted that many of those widows were left unattended and sometimes wish for death due to how the society sidelined them without caring for them, hence the festive project.

Touching on why the foundation chose the selected venue, she observed that the management team did a survey and realised that there were many widows in the area who had special needs.

She said as an organisation their aim was to support the needy, vulnerable and the deprived and would offer the care and support to provide that special needs of those widows at Akosombo.

Ms Amankonah pledged her outfit support to provide for needy Ghanaians to help the nation develop.

She said management was working to identify some key areas in the country which they would spread their tentacles to reach out to the areas and appealed for support to make the event successful.

“I am appealing to all Ghanaians through this site that they should come and support me. My strength alone cannot do it I need more hands to be on board.

Aside the feed the widow project, Ms Amankonah further stated that there were orphans in the area she would donate to on that same day and expressed an urgent need for benevolent individuals to donate to her outfit to carry out the project.

Quoting the Bible, Matthew 6:1 she said there is more blessing in giving than receiving and urged other individuals and institutions to support the project.
