Eno Barony rubbishes VGMA and questions its credibility after ‘best rapper’ awards swerves

Yaa Asantsewaa of Ghana rap music, Eno Barony has rubbished the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) after organisers of the awards show crowned Kwesi Arthur as the “Best Rapper of the Year.”

Feeling cheated by the decision of the awards board, she released a diss song yesterday to express her disappointment about the entire awards scheme.

Titled “Game of Thrones,” the song which praises her as the ultimate Ghana rapper also talks against the credibility of the awards and diss the one who won the Best rapper of the year.

The “Heavy load” hitmaker indicated in the diss song that although a man won the best rapper award but the best rapper in the country was a female which is her.

She said the winner was a toddler in rap music and the game of thrones could only be played by excellent and experienced rapper like her.

According to Eno Barony she schooled the best rapper and put him on a beat with her four minutes performance at the awards event.

She said she received applause for schooling the emerged winner of the category and Ghanaians with her supreme lyrics.

The rapper further stated that she was trending for her rap punches and would have accepted the award if it was handed down to her but was also cool with the decision.

To Eno Barony plaques would not determine her musical prowess stressing that she is a lyricist, her punchline and presence in the Ghana Music has chalked her name in the good books of the industry.

Prior to the event, the rapper was tipped by many musicians including Edem to win the Best Rapper of the Year Award but the award was given to Kwesi Arthur.

She was the only female rapper who battled with the industrial gents including Medikal, Kwesi Arthur and Strongman Burner in the “best rapper of the year” category.
