Gangs Of Manila to end on March 13 after Seven Seasons

The second long running heroic series of Coco Martin dubbed “Gangs Of Manila,” locally Batang Quiapo will on March 13 come to its end.

It’s shot for three years and has three arcs following the story of Jesus Nazareno Guerrero Montenegro nicknamed Tanggol, a Savior of Quiapo .

Its first episode aired on February 13, 2023 was first taped during the Black Nazarene festivity in 2023.

The series which has 799th episode closing seven seasons across a three-story arc follows the modern retelling of the late Action King Fernando Poe Jr.’s 1986 film “Batang Quiapo.”

It is produced by ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment and Martin’s CCM Film Productions with the directors being Martin and Malu Sevilla.

The first week of “Gangs Of Manila” garnered over 44 million digital views on Kapamilya Online Live and iWantTFC.

Martin’s character Tanggol was initially paired with Poe’s daughter Lovi Poe, who portrayed the character of Mokang, Tanggol’s dream woman from Quiapo who married Tanggol’s biological father but was later kidnapped by Tanggol.

In January 2024, Mokang was shot déåd while trying to save Tanggol. It also starred Charo Santos, Aling Tindeng, Tanggol’s grandmother, with Cherry Pie Picache and Christopher de Leon’s characters as his parents.

Ivana Alawi, Kim Domingo, Andrea Brillantes and Maris Racal also joined the action-packed series.

Other stars who were featured were Lito Lapid, Tommy Abuel, Pen Medina, Susan Africa, Mccoy de Leon, Ronwaldo Martin, Mercedes Cabral, Lorna Tolentino, Rosanna Roces, Angel Aquino, Albert Martinez and Aljur Abrenica among others.

Coco Martin who announced the closing date for the series during an interview with the media also promised that Gangs Of Manila would have a befitting end than Brothers, with its local title FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
