Kim Kardashian has called for global support for Armenia over Azerbaijan attacks

American model, Kim Kardashian has called on countries to rally round Armenia in order to win fight against Azerbaijan.

According to her, Azerbaijan violated the United Nation’s  (UN) appeal which encourages countries to cease attacks against Armenia.

“Despite ongoing, global pandemic, Azerbaijan has violated UN’s appeals for global ceasefire by unprovoked attacks against the republic of Armenia,” she added.

In a Twitter post, Kim Kardashian urged countries and individuals to call on their senators and representatives to support Armenia in this hard time.

She noted that it was a wrong time for Azerbaijan to be attacking Armenia since the world was fighting the global pandemic, coronavirus.

“Civilian structures in Armenia have been targeted, and Azerbaijan has now threatened to bomb the nuclear power plant in Armenia,” Kim Kardashian cried.

She indicated that congressional amendments to the national defense Authorisation Act would be voted on next week to ensure that the United States (US) does not support Azerbaijan with military aid for them to use against Armenia and Artsakh.

“The international community needs to pay attention and intervene now with such political and diplomatic measures to prevent unnecessary escalation and the loss of human life,” Kim Kardashian appealed.

She pledged to stand with Armenians and also called on those who were involved in the recent tensions on the border of the country to put an end to it.

In order to make the world beautiful, Kim Kardashian said peace was necessity in this global crisis and encouraged everyone to maintain peace and unity to fight the novel coronavirus.

“I urge for peaceful resolution for these unprovoked attacks during this already very difficult pandemic,” she added.

Azerbaijan & Armenia shelling

The former Soviet republics, Azerbaijan and Armenia have accused each other of shelling military positions and villages, breaking a day of ceasefire in border clashes.

The Azerbaijan defence ministry said on Thursday one of its soldiers died, while Armenia’s defence ministry said a civilian was wounded in Chinari village from an Azeri drone attack.

Prior to that, 15 soldiers from both sides and one civilian had died since Sunday in the flareup between nations who fought a 1990s war over the mountainous Nagorno-Karabakh region.

In a blizzard of rhetoric on both sides, Azerbaijan warned Armenia it might attack the Metsamor nuclear power station if its Mingechavir reservoir or other strategic outlets were hit.

The neighbours have long been in conflict over Azerbaijan’s breakaway, mainly ethnic Armenian region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

But the latest flareups are around the Tavush region in northeast Armenia, some 300km (190 miles) from the enclave.

“With no gain in the battlefield, the Azerbaijani military units began shelling the villages … deliberately targeting the civilian infrastructures and the population,” Armenia’s foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

Death toll in Armenia-Azerbaijan border clashes reaches 14 (2:14).

Armenia’s defence ministry accused the Azerbaijan army of moving positions while using villagers as “human shields.”

Azerbaijan, however denied targeting civilians and made the same accusation against Armenia of shelling villages.

The long-term feud between the two countries is getting worse, hence the call by the American model to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
