R. Kelly prays to court that he is broke and can’t afford sex-trafficking transcript
Renowned American singer, Robert Kelly known in showbiz circles as R. Kelly has stated that he has run out of money and can’t afford court’s transcript.
His lawyer also confirmed the depletion of his finances on the eve of his sex-trafficking trial.
A judge who ruled on the case on Tuesday gave prosecutors opportunity to present evidence about the Grammy winner and his “s3xual contact” with singer Aaliyah when she was as young as 13 — before the pair married in 1994 when she turned 15.

Kelly appeared in Brooklyn federal court for a hearing ahead of his trial, which begins Monday with jury selection.
His lawyer in a media at the court admitted that his finances had depleted and requested that the court to give him daily copies of the transcripts.
The lawyer also said his client has also “gained weight since he’s been incarcerated.”
The 54-year-old R&B singer was accused of employing an entourage to find young women and girls for him to have s3x with for years.
He was arrested in Chicago in 2019 by the NYPD and federal agents, and transported to New York in late June that year and now faces charges in both cities.
