Nana Agradaa to serve 3 years imprisonment for scamming Ghanaians

After allegedly scamming lots of Ghanaians, the self acclaimed priestess who has become an Evangelist, Nana Agradaa known in private life as Patricia Asiedu has been convicted by an Accra High court for fraud.

She pleaded guilty to all charges levelled against her and expected to serve three years imprisonment with hard labour if she fails in paying a fine imposed on her.

Justice Emmanuel Essandoh, presiding judge over her case today said Nana Agradaa was operating a television station without license contrary to section 110 of the Electronic transaction act 2008, act 772 and “Charlatanic advertisement” (Sika Gari) contrary to section 137 of the criminal offences Act, 1960.

He convicted the self styled priestess to a fine of Ghc36,000 or 3000 penalty units in default of which she would serve three years in jail with hard labour.

The court also found her guilty for Sika Gari, a case upon which she would serve one year if she failed paying a sum of Ghc10,000 fine to the state.

Nana Agradaa was granted bail after being kept in police custody following her “Sika Gari” scam on her TV stations.

Earlier, a joint team of the Police and the National Security Intelligence Operatives, and the National Communication Authority stormed the premises of the two television stations owned by the priestess and closed them down for operating without licenses.

The raid came along with the arrest of Nana Agradaa, the owner of the stations for the advertisement of her “Sika Gari” scam.

She claimed that her personal gods multiply money after some rituals have been performed which some of her victims claimed were untrue.

They insisted that it was a fraudulent activity she was engaging in to scam people of their money.
