Patronise local concerts—Paa George

Director of Abibiman Concert Party Group, George Appiah Kumi popularly known as Paa George has appealed to Ghanaians to patronise local concert in order to imbibe good moral and ethical principles among the youth.

According to him, the progress of every nation is imbedded in the cultural values and stressed the need for the citizenry to promote culture by patronising theatre arts.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with spotonnews.net on Monday in Accra the veteran actor indicated that positive values engender good character development.

The well being of the nation, he insisted laid on the kind of culture promoted to the outside world, adding that positive local values contribute significantly to national development and success of democratic governance.

Paa George observed that patterns of behaviour among the youth revealed that morality level of the country are all-time low and blamed high patronage of foreign content as the contributor to the moral crisis confronting the country.

How values are being taught and perceived by the youth, he stated posed great threat to the national development and underscored the need to maintain cultural values for the survival of the people.

The ace actor said raising responsible children who ensured harmony and continuity of the family and society was important to underpin progress of the nation.

“We need to strengthen patriotism, discipline, honesty, integrity, respect and maintain national heritage and symbol,” he added.
