Police nabs Jesus Ahuofe over Shatta Wale’s death prophesy

A self styled prophet who allegedly prophesied about the death of reggae/dancehall artiste,  Shatta Wale has been allegedly arrested by men believed to be officers of the Ghana Police Service.

The founder and leader of New Life Kingdom Chapel International, Stephen Akwasi, popularly known as Jesus Ahuofe is reported to have been arrested at the premise of Accra FM while preparing for an interview on the station’s mid-morning show.

The preacher was seen in a viral video explaining the circumstance surrounding how the self-styled Dancehall King would be shot.

While speaking on the radio show on September 28, 2021, the preacher compared the pending catastrophe to manifest similarly to South African legend Lucky Dube, who was also shot on October 18, 2007.

On the back of this, the singer embarked on what has now been uncovered as a plan to fake his attack on the date specified by the pastor.

After the Police stepped in to investigate the matter, Shatta Wale subsequently spilt the beans about his intent, adding that he will remain on the run until “this country shows me there are laws.”

Barely five hours after this, three men clad in plainclothes escorted Jesus Ahuofe off the Accra FM building for questioning.

Meanwhile, the Police have ruled out any supposed attack on the singer.

ACP Kwesi Ofori has, however, told the media that the Police still could not trace the whereabouts of Shatta Wale.

Meanwhile the police have mounted a search for the arrest of Reggae/Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah known in showbiz circles as Shatta Wale to assist the police in investigations following an alleged shooting attack on him.

This follows a viral video on social media which claimed that Shatta Wale had been shot by unknown gunmen and was in critical condition at a hospital.

The Director of Police Public Affairs, Superintendent of Police (Supt) Alexander Kwaku Obeng disclosed this to the media in Accra yesterday stating that the police was in search of the suspect following the video.

‘’We are seriously in search of him, we don’t known what has happened and we need him to help the police in investigations, ’’ he added

He said the attention of the police was drawn to the widely circulated news on the alleged gunshot attack on Shatta Wale, adding that the police were probing the matter.

Supt Obeng said the police would not sit on their oars but be proactive in the dealing with such issues to ensure there is peace and stability in the country.

He said the police was committed to protecting lives and properties in the country.

The Director urged the public with reliable information about the artiste should contact the police to assist in investigations.

However, Shatta Wale took to his social media platform to apologise to the public stating that he feigned the gun attack on him.

Bishop Akwasi in the police custody is assisting in investigations.

He was seen in a video which had gone viral in a prophecy that on September 18, 2021 Shatta Wale would be killed.

Similarly, the police have also busted Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as ‘Funny Face on Thursday evening   to assist the police for an allegedly threatening case involving some individuals through the social media platform.

Funny Face is currently in the custody of the police assisting in investigations, Supt Obeng stated.

He said that police would submit Funny Face to the court for an order for psychiatric examination to determine the next line of action.

Meanwhile the musician on his social media page said he would report himself to the police especially now the self styled prophet had been arrested.
