Prez Akufo-Addo has tested negative for COVID-19—Eugene Arhin

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has tested negative for the novel coronavirus disease but in self-isolation to comply with the safety protocols.

According to the Communications Director from the office of the President, Eugene Arhin the president is currently in the country and has not been flown to London.

In a statement to debunk the positive COVID-19 status of President Akufo-Addo and rumours about his travelling, Mr Arhin noted that the Herald Newspaper published that the President has been flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment.

“It is clearly a figment of the author’s imagination.

The President is in the country, and he is currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols,” he noted.

The report by the Herald Newspaper stated that a reliable source  in the Flag Staff House has informed the newspaper that President Akufo-addo has tested positive for the deadly respiratory ailment.

The publication established that Nana Akufo-addo began feeling unwell, showing some symptoms of the disease on Thursday and eventually took the test and the results returned positive on Saturday morning.

According to the paper, his Doctor advised that due to the sensitivity of the case, he had to be quickly flown out of the country for needed medical attention, stressing that “he was immediately flown out in the night of Saturday July 4.”

Mr Edward Osei-Adubofour Mensah another writer who seconded the Herald Newspaper report further went on to allege that his sources Revealed to him that Akufo-addo’s personal bodyguard, Captain Koda, Deputy Chief of staff Francis Asenso-Boakye and host of staff at the Presidency including Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe have all tested positive and have been asked to stay away from the Flag Staff House.

It is also reported that Bumpty Akufo-addo, younger brother of the President was flown out of the country on an air ambulance five weeks ago after he suddenly fell sick from an unknown condition.
