Promote artiste on record labels—Kelvynboy to label owners

Afro beat singer, Kelvynboy has entreated proprietors of record labels to step up action in promoting artists after signing them on labels.
According to him, most record label owners failed to deliver their mandate, thus left the artist to struggle in building their own brand in the industry.
Speaking exclusively to spotonnews.net in Accra on Tuesday, the “Mea” hit maker stated that most labels sign musical artistes based on the beauty of it but do little to market the music to hype the artiste to become household name.
Kelvynboy observed that it was the job of label owners to coordinate production, manufacture, distribute and enforce copyright for sound recordings and music videos, while also conducting talent scouting and development of the artists.
He bemoaned that it had been difficult for label owners to maintain contracts with recording artists, adding that“they always fail to follow business principles and their role as part of the contract.”
The artistes who terminated his contract with three different labels, including Music Is My (MIM) Life Records, French Kiss (FK) records and Burniton Music explained that due to unsatisfactory work of labels most artistes terminated their contracts.
Known in real life as Kelvin Brown, he called on fans to vote for him for his two nominations in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and promised to take his music and the country’s Afro beats culture to the world.
