Report confirms that Kwadwo Wiafe died from COVID-19

Report has revealed that Media personality from Despite Media Companies, Kwadwo Annor Wiafe who passed away on Thursday allegedly died from novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to a management member of Peace FM whose name was not revealed the young outstanding MC allegedly contracted COVID-19 but failed to respond appropriately to it at the early stage of the contraction.

Speaking in a media interview, the member of the management team explained that the deceased was receiving treatment in the house but later rushed to the hospital, Nyaho Medical Centre for proper treatment.

He stated that the ailment became severe and he unfortunately died a week after admission to the clinic.

The peace FM managing team worker noted that plans were far advanced to ensure the safety of other workers, thus they would corporately work with health workers to beef up contact tracing and treat anyone who might test positive for the virus.

“Management of the Despite Group have taken the development seriously and have stepped up anti-coronavirus health and hygiene protocols to secure the lives of the remaining workers,” he added.

However, a nurse told the media that as part of contact tracing, they called Mr Annor for early treatment but failed to respond to them.

She said the deceased went into hideout which made it difficult for the surveillance team to trace him and treat him at the early stage of the ailment.

The nurse indicated that friends of Mr Wiafe who also tested positive for the deadly respiratory ailment  and corporated with them were receiving treatment while others were fully recovered from the ailment.

“When he tested positive, he was called but never picked up. Others who tested positive together with him responded and are receiving treatment, some have even recovered. When he became too sick to hide, he went to hospital and unfortunately passed away,” she said.

She regretted that the renowned host of Neat FM’s  Funky Freaky Friday had to die a bitter death and urged Ghanaians to respond appropriately whenever they experience symptoms of COVID-19.

Mr Wiafe died at the age of 33 and left behind a wife and three children.

According to an Instagram post by the United Television (UTV), a subsidiary of the Despite Group, his funeral is scheduled for July 4.
