The circulation of reports on my “attempted murder” has disrupted police from their investigations—-Kennedy Agyapong

Ghana’s outspoken politician, Kennedy Agyapong has expressed regret on how media carried the story of assailants who raided his home with the aim of ending his life.

According to him, various reportage which sprung up from the incident has disrupted police officials from the investigation they were carrying.

Speaking in a media interview yesterday in Accra, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central bemoaned that many people misunderstood the reportage, hence received lots of calls from people who were congratulating him for not losing his life in the process.

He explained that he was not in the Tema based house during the incident and urged people not to think about his welfare.

“I do not reside in Tema Community 12 house, that is my house I have abandoned for long time,” Mr Agyapong said.

He stated that he heard of the incident but had not gotten the time to be in the said house to witness how things went, since the case was in the hands of security officials.

Mr Agyapong encouraged Ghanaians not to worry about him, adding that no one would be able to eliminate him from the world, especially with the use of machete.

He regretted that various people meddle in the work of the police by posting the incident on social media, thus requested them to refrain from the act to enable the police to carry on with their official duties to identify the culprits and bring them to book.
