My life would’ve been ruined if my lesbianism act had gone viral— Ursula Owusu-Ekuful

The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has expressed enthusiasm that her experiment with other girls’ së×uàlity during Senior High School days was not hit by a scandal on social media.

According to her, she could not have climbed the political ladder to this height if her secondary school days was this era where social media is the drive force of the day.

She indicated that her lësbiãnism act  would have been recorded by colleagues, which might have been shared on social media to expose her.

Explaining how she ended up as a lësbiàn during SHS, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful revealed that she was a curious girl who was experimenting to know her së×uàlity, thus resorted in the act even though she was attracted to the opposite $ëx.

“If that era I was exploring my sēxūålity with other girls, is today that there is social media it would have been a permanent record I would have had to live with the rest of my life,” she added.

The Ablekuma West Member of Parliament (MP) made this revelation  on ‘Starr Chat’ show in Accra on Wednesday.

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful who was sharing her views on LGBTQI+ explained that most people in the country experimented with their së×uālity with other same sëx and it was something that could be curbed if those involved seek needed attention.

“Most of us who went through the boarding system would have had some exposure particularly in girls’ schools and in some mixed schools as well with ‘supism’. We did it. I don’t make any apologies about it, but I like my men,” she stated.

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful further indicated that “fact, I mean, I won’t lie about it; we have all done it. At some stage, we have experimented with stuff like that but it was a passing phase. Some people never grow out of it and don’t see it as one of the secondary school things that we indulge in, in our exploration.”
