I’m amazed by my success in the industry— Jennifer Lopez
Celebrated American singer who doubles as an actress, Jennifer Lopez has expressed astonishment in her achievement in the industry.
According to her, she had an humble beginning and little did she know she would be an A-list artiste.
The 52-year-old musician in an interview with Apple music presenter indicated that although she had wanted to be famous but never knew it would come so quickly as it did during the early stage of her career.
“That was my dream; was able to do that and make a living doing that. And yes, it’s still amazing to me, because I come from humble beginnings in the Bronx,” she explained.
JLo also announced the premiere of her brand new movie dubbed: “Marry Me.”
“Marry Me” would debut in time for Valentine’s Day, arriving on Friday, February 11, 2022. It was originally set to arrive on February 12, 2021, but was pushed back to May 14, before being postponed again.
The movie she said stars Owen Wilson and her who were a celebrity couple and with hot music supernova.
Playing the role as Kat Valdez, a global pop singer in the movie, she said the role was not difficult for her to play since she saw herself in Kat.
JLo indicated that she was able to “bring so much of [herself]” to the character of the upcoming musical rom-com due to her experience in her “immense fame.”
“I play a pop star who is kind of in this age of social media, who over the years has gone through different versions of what fame is from the tabloids to this, to that and everything.
I was able to bring so much of myself. I don’t think anybody could have understood this role the way I do, because being an actress and a singer and a performer, and having that experience of trying to keep your feet on the ground while all of this stuff is happening with this tremendous fame, when all you really wanted to do in the beginning was, be a singer and a dancer, and an actress,” she added.
In the film, Kat discovered that her on-stage partner was having an affair so decided to marry Math teacher Charlie Gilbert, a role played by Owen Wilson – after spotting him at a concert holding a banner that read “Marry Me.”
The “Inthe morning” hitmaker went on to explain that the film – which is accompanied by an original soundtrack – is about “taking control of your destiny.”
