It is ‘nonsense’ to lift Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale VGMA ban without informing their managers— Bulldog fires Robert Klah

It is ‘nonsense’ to lift Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale VGMA ban without informing their managers— Bulldog fires Robert Klah
It is “nonsense” for the board of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) to announce to the public that they have lifted the ban on the two Reggae/dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy without informing their respective managers, Bulldog has said.
According to him, the board could not make such decision without reaching consensus with the management teams of the two artistes thus described the act as “nonsense.”

Mr Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Charterhouse on Friday, February 5 in an interview disclosed that VGMA board has internally agreed to lift its ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy ahead of the 2021 edition of the show.
He revealed that conversation on when to lift the ban ensued at the board’s inaugural meeting and they made the decision to lift it.
“It was in principle decided that the ban should be lifted,” Mr Klah stated.
He further indicated that Charterhouse would make an official announcement after the organisers meet with both artistes and their management teams to sort out outstanding issues.
Reacting to the issue on United Showbiz in Accra on Saturday, Bulldog noted that since the Award authorities have not involved the stakeholders Mr Klah should not have said they have lifted the ban.
He described it as disrespectful to the management team of both artistes and threatened to resign from his post as a manger if Shatta Wale goes ahead to file for the nominations when necessary actions are not taken by the awards board.
To him the two giant artistes spent days at cell which defamed and downgraded the level of the artistes, hence they were expecting better approach than how Mr Klah went with his approach to lift the ban.

Ban on the artistes
It is ‘nonsense’ to lift Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale VGMA ban without informing their managers— Bulldog fires Robert Klah
Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were banned indefinitely from participating in the VGMAs after an altercation between them marred the 2019 edition of VGMA.
The former rivals were also stripped of the awards they won on the night and asked to return the plaques they had been given.
Because their altercation had caused panic many people fled the venue thus the organisers failed to announce the Artiste of the Year award, in which both were nominees.
Mr Klah stated that if the official announcement to lift the ban is made before the close of submissions for nominations, the artistes can submit their projects for VGMA nomination in the 2021 edition.
Also musicians who have collaborated with Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in the year under review can also submit their works.
Artistes, artiste managements, record labels, producers, instrumentalists, music composers and other stakeholders have until February 15, to submit their entries.
