Jericho Rosales details how Janine Gutierrez became his partner
Renowned Filipino actor, Jericho Rosales has confessed to having felt something special for a colleague, Janine Gutierrez the moment they encountered each other on set.
According to him, their bond sparked during script reading in preparation for their roles as husband and wife in the revenge drama “Lavender Fields.”
Jericho Rosales revealed this in an interview with the media where he opened up that he requested a script reading with Janine since she was the only person he had not acted with before.
“One day I asked her, ‘Would you like to do a script reading with me?’ I’m sure she has her own version of the story but why would I ask for a script reading [because] she’s the only person I haven’t worked with,” shared the actor.
The “Pangako Sa‘Yo” actor then detailed what transpired the first time they went out.
“I brought my iPad and then we saw each other at a cafe, she started laughing. She was, ‘Like Holy God, you have an iPad,’ I said, ‘Yes, this is a work meeting,’ so to cut the long story short, six hours later, we never got to open the iPad.
It ended up with Japanese food at 3 p.m. and then she went to her Lola, Pilita Corales, and then that’s it. I was like, ‘Wow, I can spend 6 hours talking to this girl.’ That’s when I felt something,” he said.
Rosales, 44, also shared that he initially thought Gutierrez, 34, was too young for him to date.
“I thought she was 24. EJ said, My make-up artist, she’s 24. ‘What? Okay. Bye’ I’m not dating a 24-year-old girl. I googled,” he said, emphasizing that the actress has a kind of purity in her.
The “Legal Wife” actor then expressed his admiration for Gutierrez’s personality.
“She talks calmly, a sweet person who’s like, almost never upset about anything. [She] handles herself really well, with such humility. She’s this type of person that, okay, a ‘no’ is a ‘no’ and a ‘yes’ is a ‘yes’ and she knows her decisions and she does it in a very smooth and soft, tender kind of way,” he expressed.
Last month, Rosales revealed that he and Gutierrez were dating after being spotted in public places on different occasions.
Rosales was previously married to model Kim Jones, while Gutierrez was in a relationship with actor-dancer Rayver Cruz.
