Kathryn Bernardo bags her first Best Actress award at the FAMAS
Famed actress Kathryn Bernardo has bagged Best Actress award for her performance in the film “A Very Good Girl” at the 72nd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) awards held in Manila hotel, yesterday.
The award is to commend her for her contributions in the industry and her sterling role she played in the movie.

Receiving her awards, Kathryn acknowledged that it was her maiden award as the Best actress from the Famas.
“This is my first FAMAS award. Thank you so much. When I was cast in “A Very Good Girl,” I didn’t expect to receive awards or nominations. I accepted the project because I believed in the material. I believed in the people working with me. I’m very happy because I was allowed to be part of this kind of film,” she said.
The movie, Kathryn said was a product of hard work, love and passion and used the moment to thank the movie director, co-actors, Star Cinema family, friends and all those who had supported her to victory.
“Your Very Good Girl is a very happy girl tonight,” she added.

Aside from Kathryn, other winners were Piolo Pascual (“Mallari”) and Alfred Vargas (“Pieta”) for Best Actor; Gloria Diaz (“Mallari”) for Best Supporting Actress; L.A. Santos (“In His Mother’s Eyes”) for Best Supporting Actor; Euwenn Mikaell (“Firefly”) for Best Child Actor; and, Elia Ilano (“Ghost Tales”) for Best Child Actress.
The Famas was a celebration of the film industry to honour the stars, filmmakers, and everyone behind the biggest films under its nomination pool.
