The viral ‘atopa’ video severely embarrassed me— Serwaa Amihere cries
The embattled broadcaster from the EIB network, Joyce Serwaa Amihere has finally apologized for her bedroom tape which had subjected her to public trolls.
According to her, the video severely exposed her to embarrassment and it has gone a long way to embarrass her family and her loved ones as well as exposing her employers, and the businesses and brands she represents to embarrassment.
In a statement released on April 24 by the famous broadcaster of GhOne Tv, she explained that the video was taped five years ago when she considerably underestimated the extent of her influence and potential in the media landscape and wanted to be forgiven for her act.
“Additionally, the video has been a source of frustration to all who have been my support, inspiration, and encouragement throughout my journey in the media.”
“At the time, 5 years ago, I considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potentials, what I would become, and what I would come to represent to this society,” the statement read.
It further stated that the video was uploaded online when she was threatened five months ago for extortion, along with efforts by the police to bring the extortionists to book.
“On April 2, 2024, someone posted an intimate video of me on the internet. This came almost 5 months after threats and extortion, along with efforts by the police to bring the extortionists to book,” the statement said.
Serwaa therefore apologized for the tension and frustrations the said video had created and assured to have “learnt deeply useful lessons.”
“Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration which this matter has caused to my family and loved ones, to the distinguished businesses and brands I represent, and to you. In all, I have learnt deeply useful lessons for the future. Thank you,” she added.
Serwaa Amihere’s apology comes few weeks after she was accused to have slept with a married man whose name is revealed as Henry Fitz.
The man was believed to be a groom who Serwaa allegedly lured him to bed after his marriage which the broadcaster was rumoured to have been an MC of the nuptial.
The said man also accused Serwaa of taking GH₵25,000 from him daily to sponsor her lavish lifestyle.
