NDC injects the NPP delivery tracker with failed promises tracker to heat up the minds of voters against the 2020 elections

A website which aims at tracking the overall achievement and failure of the Akufo-Addo led administration was launched  in Accra on Monday to contradict the government’s delivery tracker.

The tracker which was launched by the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was among other things to help the citizenry hold the government accountable for all the failed promises.

Launching the website,  the immediate past Deputy Minister of Education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa explained that the website, “www.nppfailedpromises.com” was to help Ghanaians fact-check the promises of the government.

The website, he said presents detailed accounts and lists of all the promises the government made in its manifesto and those it has made after coming into power.

Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa observed that a total of 631 promises were found in the 2016 NPP Manifesto but only 86 of them had been delivered by the government.

Which to him was a failure, hence the failure tracker to flaunt their work on their face.

He said the NDC relied on credible documents and data to arrive at its conclusion.

“It will shock you to realise that the 631 promises that we listed after thorough analysis, only 86 out of this 631 promises have been delivered. So the percentage achieved is 14per cent, not 78per cent as they have been telling us in Parliament,” Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa jabs.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was throwing dust into public eye and his outfit would hold him accountable and enlighten the ordinary Ghanaians with the truth for them to make their own decision whether to retain the president or not.

In February 2020, the NPP government unveiled a website to solely monitor its manifesto promises and track the successes it has chalked so far in government.

The website, www.delivery.gov.gh, provides the status report of the NPP’s 2016 manifesto promises, it also gives data on the gains made by the government so far, three years after assuming power.

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia explained that government has achieved 78per cent of its promises contrary to the 72per cent reported by some policy think tanks.

Also he noted that no matrix or indices were given to back the claims other than the graphs that were projected at the town hall meeting.

“In all, we made 388 promises in our manifesto. The most recent validation exercise at the end of January 2019 shows that we had delivered or are delivering on 303, representing 78per cent of the promises,” the vice President announced.

However the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah debunk claims that the government had failed as being championing by the rivalry party.

He described the act of the NDC as “intellectual dishonesty” and called on them to clap for the recent government for living up to task.
