Miss Universe Philippines 2024 delegates have 4 more crowns to compete for

Empire Philippines, organisers of Miss Universe Philippines, have announced four additional crowns to the prestigious prize aside from the main Miss Universe Philippines title for this year’s edition of the national pageant.

The move is to reward deserving participants while boosting the pageantry and its mouth watering prizes.

This came after the announcement made by the organisers that four more queens would be proclaimed after the pageant to make it more competitive.

The additional titles were for the international franchises held under the brands of The Miss Philippines Culture and Heritage Celebration—Miss Supranational Philippines, Miss Charm Philippines, Miss Eco International Philippines and Miss Cosmo Philippines.

“Four more queens will be crowned in a separate coronation after Miss Universe Philippines on May 22 at the SM MOA Arena! [four crown emojis],” said a post on The Miss Philippines Facebook page on Monday, May 13.

Speaking to the media, the Head of Empire Philippines who is also the president of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPH), Jonas Gaffud stated that at the end of the official ceremonies for the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant, the live streaming would be concluded and the four additional queens would be crowned on the same stage.

He said all titles under The Miss Philippines brand would henceforth be awarded to winners who would be chosen from the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

“The reason why we will not award Miss Asia Pacific International and Miss Aura is because both international contests will be held in October, and we already have representatives proclaimed last February,” Gaffud said.

Empire Philippines currently holds eight licenses from various international pageants.

Gaffud disclosed that starting in next year’s Miss Universe Philippines competition, all their international representatives would be chosen from just one national contest.

“But the branding will still be The Miss Philippines for the other girls,” he explained.

Fifty-three delegates from around the Philippines and from overseas Filipino communities were competing in the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

The winner would be proclaimed at the culmination of the coronation show at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Reigning queen Michelle Marquez Dee would relinquish her national title to her successor, who would represent the Philippines in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico later this year.
