Sarkodie applauds the govt for intelligent exhibit in the fight against COVID-19

Ghana’s renowned rapper, Sarkodie has commended the government for the stringent measures in place to secure the lives of the citizenry against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, the closure of the borders and other measures instituted by the government would help curtail the spread of the virus.

In a solidarity message to the country, the “Oofetso” hit maker noted that the ban on traveling and the stay at home campaign were all implemented for the security of the people and urged the citizenry to support the government in the fight against the pandemic.

He noted that the fight against COVID-19 would not be an easy fight especially for a developing country like Ghana, adding that the virus has imposed economic hardship and threat even on developed countries.

Sarkodie established that it would cost the country a lot in the fight and stressed the need for collective efforts to find lasting solution to the predicament.

“It is not going to be an easy fight, especially for a developing country like Ghana. A whole lot of resources will be needed, a whole lot of funds will be needed and I am pretty sure the government will do its best. But I still feel, as a people, we need to support in our way because it is really not just going to affect us; you know we have relatives that they are also at risk at the same time,” he added.

The award winning rapper who is camped in the state called on his fans to stay safe and promised to return home once the travelling restriction is lifted.

“I really do miss home but as much as I miss home, I totally understand these measures taken to control the pandemic for everyone’s safety,” he added.

Michael Owusu Addo as known in private life cautioned the citizenry to observe all the instituted measures to make the fight against the pandemic successful, adding that “the government is on top of the game in battle against the novel coronavirus.”
