GMLIVE Awards slated for tomorrow, 6:00pm at Mikado Conference Centre 

The much anticipated awards night for comedians in and outside the country, GMlive Comedy Awards (GMCA) is slated for Saturday, January 14, 2023 at exactly 7:00pm at the Mikado conference Centre in Labone, Accra.

The awards which is in its second edition will starts off with a fashion statement on the red carpet at exactly 6:00pm while the event itself kicks off at 7pm.

Speaking with SpotOnNews in an interview, yesterday, the organiser of the prestigious comedy awards, Greg Miller said the award was an annual event chalked in the beginning of the year to celebrate comedy talents in and outside the country to propel them in boosting Ghanaian comedy.

“We chose January for the awards to remind investors and those in the creative art sector to see comedy as a craft that they can invest in to make the year a worthwhile for Ghanaian comedians,” he said.

Miller Greg indicated that 2023 being the second year GMlive was being organised has made him go back to the drawing board to factor new means which comedians were using to showcase their talents, hence added seven compelling categories to the ten existing ones.

“We added new categories including Promising standup comedian, Theatre Act of the Year, Comedy MC of the Year, Skit Director of the year and Television Programme of the year,” he said.

Touching on the dress code for the event, Miller Greg said the event should have a touch of an African print as the awards was also to project the culture of the country to the world.

He charged patrons to expect a great show, stressing that “there will be performances from our most loved comedians and musicians.”

Miller Greg said the tickets were still available and it was going out for Ghc1,000 gold which comes with five tables, platinum for Ghc150 and Regular Ghc100.
