Cameron Diaz returns to first movie role after a 10 year hiatus
After a decade-long hiatus from the industry, Cameron Diaz is set to mark her action-packed and comedic return through an upcoming movie, dubbed: “Back in Action.”
The action-spy fil featured action sequences and witty banter from Diaz and her co-star Jamie Foxx.

In a trailer which was shown on Netflix Diaz said: “Tonight, something clicked. For the first time in a really long time, I felt alive again. I felt like the bítçh again.”
The actress last appeared in the 2014 musical film “Annie,” which also starred Foxx. The duo were set to reunite in “Back in Action.”
The film centered on Emily, a character played by Diaz and Matt, also played by Foxx, former CIA spies who settled into domestic life but were pulled back into the world of spying when their cover was blown.
Aside from the pair, “Back in Action” also featured veteran actress Glenn Close, “Fleabag” actor Andrew Scott, Kyle Chandler, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts, and Rylan Jackson.

In 2014, Diaz announced to step back from acting to focus on raising her two children with her husband, musician Benji Madden.
Despite her retirement then, Diaz appeared in some episodes of “The Drew Barrymore Show” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
The “Charlie’s Angels” star would also return to voice acting for the upcoming animated sequel “Shrek 5.”
Meanwhile, “Back in Action” would mark Foxx’s return to the public eye after being hospitalized for an unspecified medical emergency last year.

The actor has still not opened up about his illness, but he was set to discuss the incident in a Netflix stand-up special titled “What Had Happened Was” and it would be premiered on December 10, 2024.
Meanwhile, “Back in Action” is set to be premiered on Netflix on January 17, 2025.
