We would have loved the fourth position to reinforce our ‘four more to do more’ message— John Boadu
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has expressed the party’s interest in the fourth position on the ballot to drum home their campaign message “Four More to do More.”
He said the fourth position would have complemented their message of appeal to give the flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo four more years to continue his good work.
Speaking in Accra on Tuesday after the picking of ballot numbers for the 2020 polls, John Boadu said although the party would have loved the fourth position but the first position on the ballot paper which he said they picked also reinforced the good works of the President that has earned him number one among his political contenders.
“We would have loved four but God is the one who decides these matters and the place he has given us is fantastic. This makes the campaign message very easy because in terms of managing the economy we are number one. In terms of everything in this country, we are number one,” he said.
Mr Boadu noted that the NPP’s first position is paramount and signifies the party’s achievements chalked since taking over the helm of affairs, thus would re-craft their campaign message around the position to make it more meaningful.
“It is going to be added to the crafting of the message going forward that it [the party] is number one. We have done so much for this country within three and a half years. We have resolved almost everything that was not resolved by the NDC weak economy, inflation within that period. We are the first in this country to have done that within three and a half years,” he said.
However Ivor Green street of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) got the fourth position which the NPP was aiming.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) followed the NPP while Ghana Union Movement (GUM) got the third position with Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) taking the fifth position.
