A Mother’s Guilt Episode 51 Don Miguel dies following a bombing incident
“Don’t get me wrong Attorney, I just wanted him to see the value of hard work. Jacob is a dreamer, a thinker on the other hand Edward is a man of action and that’s what I admire about him.”
Attorney Vega asked Don Miguel Montecillo the kind of relationship he has with Jacob and he said he was his father.
She then asked him why he took that step to reveal to court about his son’s action and why he chose to testify.
“Well Jacob and I ..we don’t have the best relationship and I don’t blame him,” he stated
He recalled how he treated Jacob and Jacob’s mother stated that his father just wanted to challenge him to do bet
“I know Jacob was smart but I wanted more from him that’s why I pressured him into accomplishing more just like Edward who owns multimillion company before reaching the age of 35,” Don Miguel said.
She then asked why he always compare Jacob with Edward.
“Don’t get me wrong Attorney, I just wanted him to see the value of hard work. Jacob is a dreamer, a thinker on the other hand Edward is a man of action and that’s what I admire about him,” Don Miguel recalled how he celebrated Edward’s multimillion company.
He lauded Educare idea of Edward and Jean broke the news that she was pregnant. Don Miguel saw the disappointment look on Jacob’s face.
“Edward has his company and the woman that my son loved, that’s when I knew he was jealous of Edward,” Don Miguel added.
“Objection the witness is not an expert in human behaviour and therefore has no right to say that,” Jacob’s lawyer fumes.
Attorney Vega disagreed and said Don Miguel knew his son better and therefore he could talk about his behaviour without being an expert.
“I allow it let’s get to the point,” Judge Tortuga stated.
Attorney Vega went for a file from Paco and she came to ask:
“Don Miguel according to the affidavit you claim you know your son killed Edward Lamoste is this true?”
“Yes Attorney,” he answered.
“Could you tell us how you get to know about it?” Vega asked.
Don Miguel explained to the court that, he was in his house in Buan and he saw a news article about Educare in bankruptcy. He said he asked Jacob since he was the VP of finance but Jacob said it did not matter to him since he advised Edward and he did not listen. Jacob then charged his father to celebrate Edward’s success since he had always been the best of business man on his eyes.
“All those did not mean anything to me till now,” Don Miguel added.
“Let me clarify this are you implying Don Miguel that Jacob embezzled the funds of Educare?” Attorney Vega asked.
“Objection,” Attorney Cee stated.
“Sustained,” Judge Tortuga said.
He said yes as an answer and Attorney Vega asked him what he knew about Jacob’s involvement with the death of Edward.
“The night Edward died my son was carelessly talking to someone on the phone, my wife, Dona Miranda overheard him and it cost her happiness which made her suffer another stroke,” he explained.
“She confessed to me everything that she saw and heard that night.” Don Miguel then took an envelope from his pocket which inside it there was a letter indicating all the things Jacob did against Edward.
He said his wife had been going through a lot for staying silence all those years but “I blame myself as well if I had raised him well may be, just may be he would have been a better person…… I am sorry Jacob I am sorry we failed you.”
The father and son looked at eachother. Attorney Cee told Judge Tortuga not to accept the testimony given to the court.
“In spirit of fairness don’t accept Don Miguel’s testimony.” Attorney Cee stated that Jacob’s mother would have been the best person to testify and not Miguel.
Attorney Vega explained that the wife could not talk and since the evidence was already given to the court by Don Miguel it would be the same as his wife testify.
“It’s a lie, it’s a lie,” Jacob thought his father was influenced by Anna and Paco and promised himself not to accept that to happen.
Anna thanked Don Miguel for his testimony and informed him that her mother was alive and sent her to see her mother.
In prison, Jacob made a strange call for some goon to carry a dirty job for him.
Don Miguel told Jean that Anna explained everything to him and it was a huge sacrifice she made just to get Jacob behind bars but Jean said it was small of a sacrifice looking at what happened to Edward. Don Miguel was so glad to see Jean alive and say.
Sonya met with Cora and Maybel at her place and they talked about how the court case went they were happy that things were falling into place. They chewed their khebab and laughed.
Paco saw Joanne and he called as they were talking some guy accidentally stumbled on Joanne and Paco wondered what was wrong with him since he never said sorry.
Paco suspected that something was wrong, the hand took a knife. Joanne then told Don Miguel and Attorney Vega about Paco’s suspicion.
Anna was attending to customers in her restaurant and Otelessa came there.
Paco went to check the CCTV footage and saw the guy he suspected taking some box here and there.
In the house of Sonya she told Samboy about Don Miguel’s testimony while serving food on the table.
“Don Miguel I advise you to stay here in a few more minutes,” Vega told Don Miguel and he responded that “Don’t worry.”
Don Miguel wondered if Jacob was the one behind what was happening but Attorney Vega said she did not want to risk it.
Anna was also busy working at the restaurant, Jean called her to tell her that it was late and she had had to get home. She said she would get home soon.
Anna was with Attorney Otelessa at the restaurant suddenly a hand was disconnecting some wires so the light at the restaurant went off and Anna wondered what was wrong.
Anna asked Attorney Otelessa whether she was okay, Jean was scare as Anna was not talking and asked her what was going on. She told Jean that her light went off and it was nothing.
Anna accidentally dropped her phone when she heard some footsteps from her back, she was so scared but it was a security. Jean wondered what was going on.
Paco spoke to Joanne to search for the box and he said there was nothing there and she said she would talk to the receptionist. A bomb was shown. Anna then told Jean that the security would call the electrician to check.
Sonya was praying and the hand was also working. Attorney Otelessa told Anna that they should go somewhere else. Paco went to press the alarm and he told Joanne that he was going to search for Attorney Vega.
Otelessa heard the smell of a gus. The goon then threw a lighted bottle into Sonya’s house when they were sleeping.
Anna realised the guard was lighting up a candle and she shouted “no” as the guard lighted it the place exploded.
Paco who was searching for Vega opened a room and it also exploded. All those while Jacob was laying on his prison bed playing with his lighter while his colleague was reading his Bible.
Sonya and the family are still sleeping. Unyo as sleeping realised that the place was burning. He then shouted and Sonya woke up wondering what was happening. She inhaled some smoke and called out Asyong’s name. They went to quench the fire.
Anna and Otelessa were coughing due to the smoke they then ran out of the restaurant and the cops came there.
Unyo went to check the laptop which showed the footage and they saw a man who was on motorcycle threw the bottle of fire into the building.
Sonya believed it was the work of Jacob. She then received a call from Jean and she told her that Anna’s restaurant exploded and Sonya also told her about the incident in her house
“I am sure this is Jacob’s doing, I am sure of that,” Jean lamented.
Sonya then thought of Paco, she ended the call in order to talk to Paco. Paco woke up and was coughing while Vega was lying helplessly on the floor.
Jean called Anna again and she said they were all okay.
Paco began calling Vega while he used his hanky to cover his nostrils. Attorney Vega was coughing excessively. Paco saw her and helped her. Vega was also calling out Don Miguel’s name.
Paco searched for Don Miguel a debris fell on hi and Paco took it off. He helped out Don Miguel but Don Miguel was lying helplessly.
Attorney Vega was put on a car, since she was coughing Joanne gave her water to drink. Sonya got there and asked of Paco and she said he was rescuing Mr Montecillo. Sonya shouted Paco’s name.
The smoke was getting excessive so Paco shouted for help but no one responded. Sonya asked of what happened and Vega said it was a bomb.
Sonya shouted Paco’s name, Paco was suffocating and did not want to leave Don Miguel.
In prison Jacob’s colleague inmate was preaching them and Jacob looked so happy with the preaching.
Don Miguel was put in an ambulance. Sonya later visited Jacob and asked him why he would bomb them for it to affect his own father.
As usual Jacob did not accept but promised to deal with them and told Sonya that she suspected him but did not see it coming.
Sonya pittied him but he said he did not need her condolences. Sonya then gave him a newspaper which talked about a bombing incident at Vega’s office that killed Don Miguel Montecillo.
He became surprised to see it as the saying goes what goes around comes back around.
