The tragic death of Georgette San Diego: Did she accomplish her mission in A Mother’s Guilt?

Attorney Georgette San Diego, a character played by Miss Universe 2016 Beauty Contestant, Maxine Medina in Hanggang Saan (A Mother’s Guilt) became prominent when Sonya Alipio got arrested for confessing to a crime that she committed 12 years ago.

Her son Paco who got stunned by his mother’s confession that she mistakenly killed Edward Lamoste so that she could give him a chance to live again.

Paco then seeks help from Attorney Vega who he worked with while trying to prove the innocence of Gabriel, a man who was falsely accused and jailed for 12 years for murdering his fellow man, Edward Lamoste.

Looking at ho complicated Sonya’s case was especially with her viral confession video admitting to the crime of murdering a man and failed to report herself for Gabriel to suffer in jail. Attorney Vega, a well respectable and principled lawyer who has a record of winning every single case saw Sonya’s case above her so she also seek for extra legal assistant from a renowned freelance lawyer, Attorney Georgette San Diego.

Through her intellectual opinion, Georgette proposed a formula of “Self Defence” strategy to defend Sonya Alipio in court.

Attorney Vega together with the rest of her team adopted the “Self Defence” strategy to initiate the legal process of Sonya.

As the legal work was unfolding it was then established that the beautiful lawyer was the ex-girlfriend of Paco Alipio (Arjo Atayde) and also a classmate of Paco who assisted him in the law school.

Georgette working with Paco in proving the innocence of his mother Sonya (Sylvia Sanchez) in the murder case levelled against her grew fond of Paco as such wished to rekindle their lost relationship.

She thrilled viewers when she had a face-offs with Anna (Sue Ramirez) who was dating Paco. Anna and Paco’s relationship hit the rocks when Sonya became the culprit of her father’s death.

Georgette became jealous whenever she sees Paco brooding over Anna she has always wanted Paco to see the feelings she had for him for them to reunite.

As the scene unfolded her wish came to pass and had Paco all to herself even when Anna wanted to make a return.

Georgette intelligently played along with Anna’s feelings and became her friend just to protect Paco in her hand. Though Anna found herself in another relationship with Archie, a child to their family friend.

Georgette’s self defence strategy worked for Sonya and through that defensive strategy many truths were established, leading audience to discover that there was a second shooter whose bullet actually finished off Edward Lamoste.

Through that strategy, audience began to understand Sonya from her perspective that her son was at the verge of death and was seeking half a million within 24hours to bring her son back to life, thus any mother in such situation would go to any extent to get her son to life.

It was through that strategy that audience realised that Sonya was desperate at that time and was not thinking right once for the first time a gun was pushed into her hands.

Through that strategy it was established that Sonya did not know how to handle a gun and her hand mistakenly pressed anywhere when Edward Lamoste was forcing her to shoot.

Judge Tutuga who sided with them charged Sonya of being guilty of Homicide but not of murderer and had to spend 15years in jail with the months Sonya has spent in jail being deducted from that sentence.

Due to the new charge Sonya was granted bail, many secrets of Jacob came to light. Through Nanny Letty’s witness statement Attorney Vega and her team recovered Edward Lamoste’s gun which Jacob threw it into a certain water.

Jacob through the help of Roman and Dindo exhumed the gun which was buried by Asyong at a certain grave in a cemetery.

The team of Attorney Vega also got the bullet from the gun which Sonya fired with the assistance of Inspector Rizalina Bonafacio.

Now transporting the evidence to the crime laboratory safely became the herculean task.

Georgette was attacked by Dindo on their way to the crime lab as Jacob Montecillo charged him and SPO3 Asuncion to claim the evidence from the hands of Attorney Vega’s team.

Meanwhile, Attorney Vega initiated a strategy to protect the evidence so Dindo could not get hold of the evidence. He shot Georgette and took the briefcase which he thought had the evidence but to his dismay he found a flower.

In his furiousness for failing to obtain the evidence, tried to shoot Georgette for the second time but Paco and Bonafacio reached there and came to the rescue of Georgette.

As the inspector called the ambulance, Paco also carried Georgette from her car to another car. At that time Georgette has lost lots of blood.

Georgette’s Last Words

A news came in that the evidence has successfully been delivered to the crime lab. Paco happily informed Georgette while asking her to hold on to life.

He even decided to drive her to the nearest clinic but Georgette pulled him back, Paco hugged her and tried stopping the bleeding but Georgette said “It is too late.”

Paco tried to refrain her from saying final goodbye but Georgette said:

“Finally mummy will be free” After that her eyes closed to life.

Character Excellence

It’s not only in confrontations that she was good at, but in dramatic scenes as well. Behold how she easily let those tears roll down her face and managed to still look beautiful while crying!

With her ability to exude different emotions effortlessly, it’s actually unbelievable that this was just her first-time to embark on television acting. From anger to gloom, she could indeed nail it!

Georgette once again showed off her acting chops in the scene where she confessed her undying feelings for Paco and incorporated a few legal terms in her admission. That, viewers felt the pain, girl!

Throughout her stint, viewers usually saw her in great despair, but how skillfully she gets hold of herself, her comportment and her zeal to get Sonya out of jail made viewers saw her as the best life partner for Paco.

Finally, the lighter and sappy side of Atty. Georgette was displayed in the moment when her thwarted romance with her ex-turned client got rekindled in a snap.

In as much as we felt the pain of her exit from A Mother’s Guilt after her character was killed off Georgette accomplished her mission of getting Sonya out of jail.
