Be transparent with Prez test result once it comes out—Ghanaians to Ministry of Information

It is exactly 14 days that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo went into self-isolation after coming into contact with person tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a statement issued in Accra on Saturday July 4, and signed by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah the President was on the mandatory quarantine as advised by doctor after getting exposed to COVID-19 infected person.

Many Ghanaians who were not enthused by the news made it a daily prayer to ask God for personal protection in order for the President to test negative for the ailment.

Speaking in an interview with Spot On News, some concerned Ghanaians said they prayed hard to God and were optimistic that the result  would be good.

Daniel Offei, an entrepreneur urged the ministry of information to open up to Ghanaians about the test result without concealing any vital information.

He said the citizenry voted the President into power based on love and hope they had in him and were willing to rally round him no matter the circumstance.

Abena Boatema regretted that some people were making politics with the health of the President and advised them to stop.

She said the country needed unity  in order to sail through this difficult times.

“Let us unite and get solidly behind the government so that they can be transparent with us when the test result of Nana Akufo-Addo comes,” Abena Boatema said.

Mr Franklin Opoku, a teacher observed that when warriors at the forefront in a battle get defeated the winning of the opponent is rest assured, thus called on the citizenry to desist from jubilating about the government appointees who have tested positive for the ailment.

He stated that the nation should fervently pray and seek for the betterment of the country while observing all the necessary protocols.

Mr Nkrumah explained in the statement that the President self-isolated after at least one person within his close circle tested positive for the deadly respiratory ailment today.

He indicated that the 14 day precautionary self-isolation measure was done in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.

Mr Nkrumah noted that although President Akufo-Addo has tested negative for the virus, still decided to self-isolate “out of the abundance of caution.”

During this precautionary self-isolation period, the  President worked from the Presidential Villa at the Jubilee House.
