Your number two on the 2020 ballot paper could mean your second defeat—Kweku Baako to NDC

Ace journalist, Kweku Baako has cautioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to nullify the thoughts that the second position of the party on the 2020 elections ballot paper signifies their second coming into power.

According to him, the position could represent their second defeat when the election is conducted on December 7.

Speaking on Peace Fm in Accra today, the seasoned journalist stated that NDC members should not be consumed with the belief that they were going to ascend to the presidential throne for the second time.

He said it would be a difficult task and cautioned all political parties to desist from attributing meanings to their position on the elections ballot paper as it meant nothing.

Advising the NDC from building false hopes in their position, Mr Baako said the second position ”could represent a second defeat.”

His stance follows Sammy Gyamfi’s reasons which he gave after the party got the second position on Monday.

Mr Gyamfi explained that their second position signified the second coming of their Flagbearer, John Dramani  Mahama while the New Patriotic Party’s number one meant that they only have one term in office.

Meanwhile, John Boadu, NPP General Secretary has stated that their number one position was fantastic although they wanted number four.

He said the number one has made it easier for them to craft their campaign message that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is number one in all his doings as president.

Mr Boadu indicated that President Akufo-Addo is the number one candidate who has transformed the country from the hardship imposed on livelihoods by the NDC-led administration.

He revealed that before picking the number, the party prayed fervently to God to help them get a position that would have spiritual and physical meaning, stressing that it came out right as the number one government God has ordained to help the country and create jobs for the youth.
