IGP puts Gh¢20,000 bounty on the killers of Mfantseman MP
A total amount of Gh¢20,000 bounty has been placed on the killers of the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) of the Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford who was shot dead today.
Mr Hayford was shot on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze Road on his return from a campaign trip.

He is believed to have been attacked at about 1:00 am Friday morning by six armed highway robbers.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh who placed the bounty on the killers of the MP said the money would be given for only credible information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
According to a statement issued in Accra by the Public Relations Directorate of the Service and signed by Superintendent Police, Sheila Kesse Abayie-Buckman, Mr Hayford together with his driver was shot and killed after their car was attacked on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region.
Eyewitnesses say the suspected armed robbers numbering about six started shooting at the MP’s vehicle when his driver attempted to drive through the robbery operation.

The driver was subsequently shot, resulting in him losing control over the vehicle.
The MP is then alleged to have introduced himself to the robbers which infuriated them.
He was then shot twice, while urging with the public to remain calm.
The statement also added that the IGP has dispatched a team of investigators from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to support the Central Region’s Crime Scene Team to investigate the incidence.
Eyewitneses account
According to an eyewitness report, while the robbery was ongoing, the MP identified himself.
This allegedly infuriated the robbers who blamed him for the problems being faced by people in the country.
He was then shot twice, leading to his untimely demise.
The robbers are currently hiding.
