Poetry: Hail The Writer’s Pen
Poetry: Hail The Writer’s Pen
SENSATION 32
WRITTEN BY JOYCELINE NATALLY CUDJOE
HAIL THE WRITER’S PEN
Let the writers’ sing thankful hymns to hail their pen
Even the soldiers can’t sail in victory because is not their turn
It is still the writer whose word is sharper than any two edge swords
Let not the army man swim in joy with his bullet
If the writer could stand far off and strip hearts open with her pen
Then let fright and terror be guild those who call themselves warriors
What is the use of a sword?
If you thrust someone with the sword and die by the same sword….
Is your strength not slain along with the sword?
Y-e-s! Let the writer be hailed high and higher
For her weapon is mightier than their sword
As long as her pen lives
So shall her strength continue to live
Even if her life waves her sweet good bye and leave
Her name will be remembered along with her pen
For the pen is still sharper and mightier than the sword.
