Stay two metres away from people—Dr Kuma-Aboagye advises Carlos Ahenkorah after recovery

The Former Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Carlos Ahenkorah has been urged to follow all the safety protocols after recovering from the novel Coronavirus.

According to the Director General of Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye the recovery of the former minister did not mean he was immune from contracting the virus, if he fails to observe the safety protocols.

In a statement release in Accra yesterday and signed by Dr Kuma-Aboagye, Carlos Ahenkorah obtained two consecutive negative laboratory test result for COVID-19.

“For this reason you are deemed to have recovered from the infection and can return to work,” he said.

Dr Kuma-Aboagye advised him to continue to observe the physical distancing by staying a minimum of two meters away from other people.

“Cover your mouth and nose with tissue paper when coughing or sneezing and disposing the used of tissue paper properly and drink enough water,” he added.

Dr Kuma-Aboagye promised his continuous support to ensure the safety of Mr Ahenkorah and that of other Ghanaians.

Mr Ahenkorah was criticised by many Ghanaians for breaching COVID-19 protocols by visiting a registration centre despite being aware that he had tested positive for the virus.

A pressure group by name Occupy Ghana and the members of the opposition party including Aseidu Nketiah called for his prosecution and described him as “unpatriotic.”

He subsequently resigned from his position after intense public pressure for his removal from government.
