The Killer Bride- The real identity of Luna: is Luna Vida?
Luna C. Dela Cuesta a character played by Alexa Ilacad has been known to viewers of the Killer Bride as the only daughter of Tessa and Vito who came out of their encounter as couple.
However, the hunt for the identity of Camila’s daughter, Vida, whose apparent death as a newborn in a prison fire sparked her (Camila’s) journey of revenge as the titular character finally revealed the identity of Luna.
Camila after receiving a video message from Luciano, her uncle before his death, in a prison where a phone was tossed to her before her controversial judgement learnt that her daughter, Vida had been alive all those while.
She began a search for her daughter, which led her to the nurse who Vida was left in her care before the jail fire break.
The nurse revealed to Camila that she only saw a blanket of Vida on fire so she assumed Vida was consumed by the fire. Camila realised that it was possible that Vida was alive.
The unusual thing the nurse noticed during the prison arson, she indicated was a prison guard, Aurora who was off duty but was present before the tragic incident.
Aurora sets the Prison on Fire
In a build-up which hit a curve when Aurora, the mother of Emma who had abandoned her as a child at the age of seven, explained to her daughter just why she is fearful of facing Camila.
Aurora was the security personnel behind the arson, which led to both Camila and Vida’s apparent demise.
She was paid by Camila’s nemesis Luciano to carry out the crime, but was overcome by guilt and rescued Vida from the fire, Aurora now admitted.
Upon that confession, Emma assumed that she was the baby her mother had rescued. However, Aurora clarified that it was not the case.
She had initially wanted to raise Vida as her own, but ultimately decided to bring the infant to her father, Vito, who by then was already married to Tessa.
Luna is an adopted child
In flashbacks, Aurora was shown leaving the baby on the doorstep of the dela Cuesta home, to be found by Vito. At the time, it was belatedly revealed, Vito and Tessa had been struggling to get pregnant.
The couple took in the child as their own and raised her as Luna. Vida, it became clear, has been Luna all along, at least according to Aurora’s account.
Luna’s reaction
A tearful Luna, who has long blamed Camila for the cold marriage of her parents, refused to believe she is Vida. It was another layer of truth to process, on top of being told for the first time that she was adopted.
Leaving no stones unturned, Camila kept captive Aurora, and bared her plans of having Luna undergo a DNA test, to settle all their doubts once and for all.
Camila suspects Luna is not Vida
Camila seems bothered while bonding with Luna in the kitchen. She opens up on her curiosity about Luna’s interests in baking and horseback riding, wanting to know the traits that Luna got from her.
But to Camila’s surprise, there seems to be no similarity between her and Luna, as the latter expresses distaste over the activities she likes the most.
Camila asks if Luna is into music as well, just like Vito but her daughter casually shrugs it off. Vito enters the scene just in time when Luna exits for a while.
The DNA test
Vito catches Camila taking the piece of spoon that Luna used. He detests the idea of sending their daughter’s DNA sample to a secret test.
Vito says Luna would only get hurt whether the analysis would yield a positive or a negative result, especially if is the latter case.
However, Camila has already made up her mind. She is determined to listen to her guts loudly telling her that there is something off with Auroras’ revelation about Luna’s identity; and the DNA Test is the only way to clear up her uncertainties.
She conducted the DNA test and the test revealed that Luna is not her long-lost daughter, Vida.
