Being in the force doesn’t mean you need to go to war— Arci Muñoz claps back at critics

Renowned actress Arci Muñoz has hit back at critics who accused her of being “tough” only on social media but has no strength to save the Philippine country.

In her defence to her sworn duties as an Air Force reservist, she said her duty is to promote peace not to be going to war.

These heated exchanges sparked when Arci shared on her Instagram some photos from her training as she donned the Air Force uniform while doing her duties, in commemoration of Independence Day on June 12.

In the comment section, a netizen asserted, “Question is, will you tread to mudd and bleed when the time comes to save our sovereignty? [It’s] so easy to look tough on [social media].”

Arci then hit back by explaining that being in the force was not equivalent to going to war, as the role of a reservist focused more on promoting peace.

“Question is, did [you] even try to make an effort in serving your country? Do you even know why [reservists] exist? And our duty? Being in the force doesn’t mean you need to go to war; for me, it’s more [about] promoting peace. It’s so easy to talk shit and look tough on [social media], no?” the actress remarked.

The “StarStruck” alumna also previously responded to the criticism about celebrities joining the force, explaining that they try to influence people in the way that they know how.

In 2020, Arci Muñoz officially gained the title “sergeant” after completing her Basic Citizen Military Training at Clark Air Base.
