Kim Chiu freezes her egg while in wait for Mr. Right to build a family with
Actress Kim Chiu has been lauded for the bold steps she took in getting her eggs frozen to enhance her future fertility chances with partner.
Her close pile Bela Padilla who lauded her, revealed this in an interview with Boy Abunda on his renowned talk show “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.”
The actress disclosed that Chiu had undergone egg freezing, also known as oocyte cryopreservation, a procedure where a woman’s eggs (oocytes) are retrieved, frozen, and stored for later use.
This allows them to preserve their fertility by potentially using the frozen eggs for “family building in the future, especially if they wish to delay childbearing due to personal, medical, or professional reasons.”
Padilla said Chiu had told her years ago to undergo such a procedure which she couldn’t get the courage to do it and expressed happiness for Chiu embarking on such fertility procedure while in wait for Mr. Right.
“Actually, she asked me a few years ago if we would do it together because we’re the same age but I can’t, I can’t do that for medical reasons. I’m very happy for Kim that she took that step in her life, you know, if this is what she really wants to do,” she said
Aside from Kim Chiu, Carla Abellana is another person who froze her eggs when she was 38 and was experiencing some medical conditions that got her scared that it would affect her child bearing chances.
