Is Carla Abellana expected to take steps to motherhood this year?
Kapuso actress Carla Abellana currently married to a doctor, Reginald Santos, an earlier lover she reunited with after first marriage failed.
As her biological clock was ticking, the actress underwent egg freezing in the early months of 2025 but married in December the same year, surprising many who never knew she was dating.
Her gynaecologist discovered that her ovaries produced eggs when she was 38 years but the eggs were housed in follicles so it became necessary for her to undergo oocytes cryopreservation to ease her fertility path once she marries.
She wrote that her journey to freezing her eggs “has been a transformative experience —one that required a lot of research, emotional preparation, and support.”
Gynecologist and Reproductive Medicine Specialist had explained that the option of freezing one’s eggs means that women do not have to race against time just so they can have a child.
Some modern women in their 20s and early 30s freeze their eggs in order not to worry about child bearing when they get the right partner or achieve career success.
