Fears about COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has caused serious problems in the country’s entertainment and Tourist industry as many musicians who have global tours might cancel.
Spot On News gathered that artistes including Kuame Eugene, Patapaa, Sarkodie among others have African and international tour which they may called off.
The tours which aimed at showcasing their talents and sell their music to the outside world would be postponed as two imported cases of the virus were detected in the country on Thursday.
Organisers of 3Music Awards yesterday also postponed the upcoming festival due to the outbreak of the virus.
Government of Ghana has already banned travelling of politicians and other dignitaries to and fro of the country with an aim to curb the global spread of the virus.
The spread of the virus is no doubt affecting tourism, business conferences and live events like concerts, this would lead to drop of revenue for some musicians who have been booked for international shows.
Measuring the long-term impact on the entertainment industry, it is unclear when the spread of the disease would be contained for artistes and performers to go on with their regular routine as the virus keeps spreading from country to country.
