Display your cash and get yourself out of jail if you an angel—Kennedy Agyapong to Obinim

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong has called on the Founder of International God’s Way Church Bishop Daniel Obinim to save himself if indeed he is an angel of God.

According to him, the Bishop bragged that he is the richest man of God in Ghana and had been sharing money among Ghanaians and foreigners.

Based on that, the MP stated he should pay the money for his bail which is a sum of Ghc100,000 or better still disappear and go to his “daddy Jesus” straight in heaven.

Speaking on Net2 television yesterday in Accra, Mr Agyapong indicated that it was time the country refine the religious fraternity to protect the poor Ghanaians from being misled by the fraudsters who fake themselves as men of God.

He stated that the recent exposé was not meant to destroy the religious foundation of the country but was meant to strengthen it for people not to lose their lives to the devil.

Bishop Obinim is still in police custody after he failed to meet his bail conditions.

He was arrested on Tuesday and charged with offences of publication of false news and forging of document contrary to the Criminal and other Offences Act.

Obinim was subsequently granted bail in the sum of GHc100,000 with three sureties by an Accra Magistrate Court.

According to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, he is expected to reappear in court on June 1 while being investigated for other offences levelled against him.

Sources at the CID Headquarters in Accra indicated that the ‘Angel’ was still in their custody as he failed to meet requirements of his bail.
