Only ‘Useless’ politicians retire poor— Atubiga jabs critics of Eugene Arhin

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications team, Stephen Atubiga has chided Ghanaians criticising the Communications Director of the President, Eugene Arhin for amassing wealth within a period of four years.

According to him, a politician with no ambition will be the only person to retire as poor.

Speaking in a media interview, Mr Atubiga said every man is an achiever and was prudent for a man to work tirelessly to save for his future gains.

“We are all working and forcing to achieve something worthwhile in life after schooling. We work hard for ourselves so that we can give back to our families parents and society. No politician retires empty-handed unless they led a useless like,” he explained.

This comes after the wife of Mr Arhin, Gloria Arhin demanded Ghc2million as part of her writ in divorcing her husband.

The wife also shared some properties of Mr Arhin including 32 apartments, five houses, a barbering shop, and a number of companies and businesses which she claimed were acquired secretly without her knowledge.

Social media began to criticise Mr Arhin for securing all those properties within a short period that he got the appointment as a communications director.

Responding to this, Mr Atubiga noted that some people’s blessings come at their early stage and others own come late, stressing that there was nothing wrong if Mr Arhin had been able to gain those properties within four years.

He noted that unless one could prove that the wealth Mr Arhin has amassed was through corruption other than that there was nothing wrong with him gaining such properties at a young age.
