Robert Trump, brother of American President dies from COVID-19?
America was thrown into a state of shock after President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that his younger brother, Robert Trump has kicked the bucket.
Robert Trump died at the age of 71 in New York hospital after months of severe ailment.
The detail account of the cause of his death has not yet been made public but the unwillingness of President Donald Trump to reveal the actual cause of the death compelled some Americans to link the death to the recent coronavirus outbreak.
President Donald Trump announced the unfortunate news in a statement released by him on Saturday evening.
“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight. He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again.
His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace,” he said.
A source closer to the deceased allegedly stated that Robert Trump was admitted to the intensive care unit of New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan and spent several days.
Report indicated that those who spoke to President Trump before the death of his brother said he sounded frustrated, saddened and worried.
They noted that the president called his brother earlier on that day and was unclear whether he was able to connect to him or not.
However action of President Trump suggested he was expecting the bad news from the health workers treating his brother.
Although the funeral rite activities is not disclosed but President Trump is expected to attend the funeral.
President Trump made a last minute decision to go to New York on Friday to visit his brother as he headed to New Jersey for the weekend.
During a White House briefing on Friday, Trump declined to provide reporters with details on his brother’s illness.
“I have a wonderful brother. We have a great relationship for a long time, from day one, so long time ago. And he’s in the hospital right now,” Trump said Friday when asked about his brother.
“Hopefully he will be alright, but he is having a hard time,” he added.
Report claimed that Robert Trump was previously hospitalised in June with an undisclosed serious condition.
Robert Trump had served as an executive vice president of the Trump Organisation. Part of his duties including overseeing the organisation’s Atlantic City casinos.
He was born in 1948 and was one of the four siblings to the President, including the late Fred Trump, Jr.
The deceased was a former top executive at the Trump Organisation and married Ann Marie Pallan earlier this year, he was previously married to Blaine (Beard) Trump.
Before his death, Robert Trump resided in Millbrook, New York, in the Hudson Valley.
In 2016, he hosted events and fundraisers in Millbrook for his brother and other Republicans to support his political campaign.
The deceased filed a temporary restraining order in an attempt to block the publication of an unflattering “tell-all book” by Mary Trump, Fred Trump Jr.’s daughter in June, this year.
Robert Trump said in a statement to The New York Times that he was “deeply disappointed” in Mary Trump’s decision to publish a book, which details the President’s family, childhood and upbringing.
Mary Trump said in an interview with Greenpeace earlier this week that Robert Trump had been sick and hospitalised “a couple of times in the last three months.”
