The Way To Your Heart Episode 37 ‘MaiLer’ is official: Onay gives her blessings for Oliver to date Maila
Oliver startled Maila at the school cafeteria. Maila was trying her best to keep her distance due to Imelda’s action but Oliver said even if his mother was around he would not allow her to maltreat her. Oliver wanted them to be together again.
He told her that even if his mother was against their relationship, his father supported them. He stated that they should stay united and even if he had to prove it to the Matayog family about his sincerity concerning Maila he was ready to do that to be with her again.
Maila walked out and Oliver followed her, demanding to escort her home but Maila refused. She preferred going home alone.
As she was walking home, Natalie who was in a car together with Helena saw Maila on the way and called her to spew horrible words. Maila asked her of her problem but Natalie threw water on her and ordered her driver to drive off.
Fast forward, Maila was in the market helping her family when Lucas and Oliver arrived to help. They brought baskets of vegetables and Oliver took the liberty to get close to Aunt Onay.
Oliver confessed his feelings for Maila and promised to do anything to win Maila over. Yet Onay questioned his intentions but Nelia seemed to be in supportive of the relationship.
As he got the nod from the family, Oliver promised not to disappoint them and thanked them. They then gathered around one table to eat.
In school, Maila was consumed with happiness and her friend was so happy for her although she teased her. Maila kept brushing her hair at the washroom beaming with smiles. She later had a call and it was from Oliver. Natalie came to the washroom to overhear their conversation. She was enraged with jealousy.
That evening, Maila, Nelia and Onay stood at their balcony to find Oliver arriver there, holding a bouquet of flowers in an escort of musical band and his father Lucas. He sang for Maila. The cloud cheered him with up with a clap offering.
Maila descended down and Oliver officially proposed to her.
“Maila I want to take care of you, I want you to be happy. I want you to be the shoulder you could cry on.”
She accepted and Oliver asked for Onay’s blessings. He promised not to do anything against her daughter that she wouldn’t want, adding that he would not make her cry.
“I promise to take care of Maila with all my heart. Aunt Onay I promise.”
Onay finally gave Oliver her blessings and he hugged her. The family and everyone was happy that finally Onay has accepted Oliver into the family to court her daughter.
Maila expressed her joy for her mother’s consent and also hugged her for accepting the lamp of happiness of her life. She advised her daughter and Oliver assured Lucas that he would never disappoint him.
Meanwhile, Natalie was desperate making calls but Louise told her to give up. Natalie was not ready to back down. She expressed her hatred for Maila. Lois said she could hate Maila with all her strength but nothing would make Oliver turn to her way.
However, Oliver and Maila were left alone. The two l*ve birds began to bond and Oliver was longing to k!ss Maila. Maila pulled back and began teasing her “biko” asking him to be a good boy. Oliver told her that his actions showed how he has been yearning to k!ss her.
“MaiLiver” which is Maila and Oliver was now officially sealed. Maila pulled his nose and he also did same. He caressed her face and the two got so close to eachother. Inhaling eachother’s breath.
For a moment we were struck by the scene that “MaiLiver” would officially entertained us with a k!ss but they disappointed us by sharing only a hug as they confessed their l*ve for eachother in an embrace.
The Samonte family reached home. Gracie congratulated her senior brother for his courage to express his heart to Maila.
He told his kid sister to give all the thanks to their father, Lucas but the later said he initiated the process to propose and also fought hard for the woman he fell for. Lucas was so proud of Oliver and Oliver hoped that his mom would also be proud of her.
“I am so offended by what you both did,” Imelda voice came from behind and they all turned to the direction of the voice. Imelda was disappointed that Oliver went to such an extent to create a scene (proposal to Maila) that was making him trend on social media.
She wondered why both could go behind her to do such a thing without consulting her. Lucas tried to make his wife accept Maila but Emelda was unwilling to accept a rapist child in her family.
Oliver warned his mother not to talk that way about his girlfriend. Imelda wondered why Lucas always defended the “dwarf” and her descendants. Oliver kept on with his warning.
Imelda referred to Oliver’s girlfriend as gold-digger but Lucas would not tolerate such words from his wife. Imelda warned him, spewing spiteful words that if Oliver was his son he would not had supported such a mistake he called decision to propose to a rapist daughter. She then walked out on him.
At the Matayog’s mansion, Maila was playing guitar as her mother was combing her hair, saying that the “MaiLer” affair had made her remember Elvin, her deceased husband.
The next day, Onay recalled the mean words of Imelda and Helena who referred to her as homewrecker. She sobbed and found a place to sit. A hand stretched forth an handkerchief, she lifted up her eyes and saw Lucas giving her the handkerchief to wipe off her tears. Lucas sat next to her and comforted her.
