COVID-19:Dominica Foundation and Prevailing House of Prayer donate items and cash to secure Orphans at Apam Home!

The Dominica Foundation, a non governmental organization in partnership with Jayana Ministries on Thursday donated items worth about Ghc2000 and a cash of Ghc400 to the Apam Orphanage home.

The items included toiletries, foods, drinks, detergents, sanitisers, clothes among other consumable items.

Presenting the items and the cash, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation, Ms Dominica Ewura Esi Amankonah indicated that the donation formed part of her charity project dubbed “My COVID-19 Substance” to support the needy in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

She stated that her outfit would never relent on its efforts to put smiles on the lips of the vulnerable, adding that “we are in a situation where the people have to support each other to make a better place for all.”

Ms Amankonah noted that the government was doing its best to alleviate the poverty COVID-19 was imposing on the nation but affluents in the society, she said could do more to help.

She assured the orphans that her outfit would work assiduously to continually supporting and securing their welfare  especially in the COVID-19 season.

Ms Amankonah urged to sanitise their hands and frequently wash their hands under running water.

She said although they were many but should try their best to observe the social distancing protocol, stressing “we will continually pray for you.”

Receiving the items on behalf of the owner of the home, Mr Daniel Obimpeh, the Director of Apam Orphanage Home expressed gratitude for the kind gesture and evoked God’s blessings upon the foundation.

He said the Dominica Foundation had left a foot print that other organisations should follow, saying “we appreciate the kind gesture and we ask the almighty God to bless this foundation and continue to develop in greatness.”

Mr Obimpeh noted that although people and other institutions in their small way were showing them love, stressing that the items were not enough to cater for the orphans thus urged other stakeholders to donate to the orphanage home.

Aside the cash, items and other things to stock the home, the orphans were treated to the suiting sounds of renowned gospel musician Joyce Blessing and Jayana to entertain the kids.

The charity project was also supported by the Prevailing House of Prayer and Spot On News.
