December 7 polls: Edward Bawa threatens to silence the NPP parliamentary aspirant in Bongo
The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Bongo Constituency, Edward Abamgbire Bawa has challenged the parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who doubles as the District Chief Executive of Bongo of winning all the 10 polling stations at his own electoral area.
According to him, his challenge would be fulfilled easily due to the failure of the NPP to deliver their “Heaven on Earth” promises.
The MP declared the challenge at the inauguration ceremony of the constituency and zonal campaign teams in Bongo on Saturday.
Hon Edy as he is affectionately known revealed that the ‘adopt branch concept’ which is championed by the flagbearer of the NDC, ex-president John Dramani Mahama is working for good and with the zealous nature of the campaign team.
He is assured of victory for NDC in the upcoming elections and most especially winning all the 10 polling stations within the political zone of Bongo Soe where the DCE and NPP parliamentary candidate hails from.
Speaking at the function, Mr Bawa stated that as a legislature, he has outperformed the District Chief Executive, stressing that in rankings he got ninth as new entrant in parliament among the over 120 new entrants whereas the District Chief Executive had 84TH position out of the over 200 District assembles accessed by the Unicef District League Table (ll).
He also used the opportunity to call on all constituents to vote massively for the NDC come December 7th 2020.
Mr Bawa noted that the NPP had failed Ghanaians with their ‘heaven-on-earth’ promises such as the free senior high school, one village, one dam, one district one factory and the one constituency, one billion United State dollars which he described all as “scam.”
Inaugurating the campaign team, the regional treasurer of the NDC charged the campaign team members to use all available means to send the good message of “John and Jane” to the electorate.
“The message of the Big push, the message of health for all and the message Edwuma pa must get to the electorate in good time for them to make an informed decision,” he said.
In acceptance speech, the chairman of the campaign team professor Akabzaa Thomas promised the party of an aggressive campaign strategy and pledge to win over 100 polling stations out of the 120 branches in the constituency for NDC.
Bongo constituency has been a safe seat for the National Democratic Congress since 1992 and in the upcoming elections, the seat is been contested by Hon. Edward Bawa of NDC, Hon. George Afari of PPP, Hon. Peter Ayinbisah of NPP and Hon. Richard Akama of GUM whose posters are pasted around the constituency though filing of nomination is yet be done.
