Kelvin Boy trousers gets torn at VGMA after losing

The 21st Vodafone Ghana Music Awards night ended in Accra yesterday with some Ghanaians alleging that the night became unenjoyable for afrobeat singer, Kelvin Boy.

He was crowned by social media users as the unlucky loser after losing to Dope Nation in the afrobeat song of the year category.

Kelvin Boy’s “Mea” got crippled by “Zanku” a track by Dope Nation which got them the converted award.

Aside him not winning anything after various nominations he received for the night, Kelvin Boy is also being trolled on social media for getting his trousers torn during his performance on stage.

He was also accused of leaving the awards grounds before the show ended due to his inability to win from the afrobeat category which many stated he was eyeing.

Prior to the awards, the Public Relations officer of Charter House, Robert Klah confirmed to Spot On News that Kelvin Boy proposed a change of name of the category from Afropop to Afrobeat, which the former said the awards board after further deliberation changed the name of the category to Afrobeat.

It could be noted that Kelvin Boy was much more passionate about the category and his lost is believed by many including his fans as a great lost.

The event would be climaxed today with heroes concert to celebrate the Ghana Health Service professionals for their contributions in combating the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from the county.
