NDC played ‘Chaskele’ with the economy and wants to play same ‘chaskele’ with govt’s achievement data—Dr Bawumia jabs
The vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated calls on the Leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to learn from the government’s achievement data.
According to him, that would deepen their knowledge on achievement of the Akufo-Addo led government and congratulate them for the transformational agenda.
Speaking at the National Council Meeting in Accra on Saturday, Dr Bawumia stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with their vision to transform the economy that the Mahama-led administration played “Chaskele” with it, had fulfilled 70per cent of its promises.
He noted that the NDC party said the government had failed and had fulfilled 15per cent of their promises and asked them to learn data before they spew out incompetent speech.
Dr Bawumia explained that the government has reduced the suffering and plight of Ghanaians just three and half years it took over from the already collapsed economy.
He mentioned that the government had successfully employed youth who were left unemployed by the NDC government and has reduced suffering of parents with the introduction of Free Senior High School Policy to ensure inclusive education.
“We reduce electricity tariffs by 10.9per cent and further reduced by 30per cent when COVID-19 outbreak in the country to mitigate the socio-economic impact of the virus on lives,” Dr Bawumia added.
He said the government has reduced import duties by 50per cent, adding that “if the NDC could not afford Ghc60million and scrap out trainee allowances, how can they absorb Ghc20.14 billion Free SHS agenda.”
Dr Bawumia observed that the Akufo-Addo led administration put the National interest first before executing an agenda unlike the NDC who think about their interest first before the ordinary Ghanaian.
He indicated that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was a visionary leader who has introduced social intervention programmes that has helped accelerate the economy and saved the lives of Ghanaians.
Dr Bawumia therefore urged Ghanaians to give the NPP four more for the government to do more.
He pledged the government’s commitment to improve the digitisation system to make Ghana one of the leading digitised economy in Africa.
